Fabulous in the Flower Fields

North Carolina offered some of the most amazing views along the eastern Carolina coast. Every spring, as part of a wild flower project, huge beds of flowers bloomed along the bridge leading to the small barrier island of Emerald Isle where we lived. While this wasn’t the first day I met the “mini Gins” that belong to my very dear friend, Gin, it was the first time I had a chance to spend time alone with them and their mom. It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship that I will cherish, always. That’s the best part about this job–the people you meet and the memories made. Enjoy!

My Deployment Buddies

For those of you who don’t know, my hubby is a Marine. Just this past year, he deployed for 8 months-ish. In that 8 months, I made some really great friends–friends that knew exactly what it was like to be away from their favorite guy, whether that was dad, boyfriend, or hubby. They were my deployment buddies and will be friends for life. These are some of my deployment buddies, Jack and Grace, and shortly before homecoming, we spent a morning at the beach capturing their patriotism for years to come. These kids, and all the kids that go through deployments and all that comes with them, are my American heroes.

Thank Heaven for Little Girls

This past fall, I had the pleasure of sneaking away to New Bern, NC to spend an afternoon on the playground with these two lovely ladies. These two divas were born to be in front of the camera. Say “cheese,” girls! And thank you for showing me your best playground skills.

Mom, Daughter, and Precious

I have two dogs, Molly and Charlie. They are family. I treat them like my children. So, when I had the chance to spend the day with a girl and her puppy, I was in heaven.

My Favorite Group of Teens

Every once in a while, I have the chance to spend an afternoon with my own family. As a military family on the move, it’s not often that we live close enough to spend time with these two beautiful girls, my nieces! They come up for a visit right after Christmas and we had so much fun just laughing and shooting for the afternoon. The boys, of course, are mine. It’s also incredibly rare that they will “dress up” and cooperate for mom! Well, they almost cooperated. Enjoy!
